Join us for the album launch of No Love Is Higher, Emu Youth's latest release. The night will include live performances of the songs on the album by the Emu Youth team, as well as the stories behind the songs and the scriptures that inspired them.
Everyone is welcome to the album launch. We particularly want to welcome youth groups and school groups to come along for an entertaining night of live music, fellowship and singing.
Tickets available from $5 per person (youth group leaders go free!)
No food or drink is allowed in the church building.
The Emu Youth Album Launch is a public event that is designed specifically for young people (under 18) in the high school stage of life, plus youth leaders who accompany these groups. We do welcome supporting adults who are keen to attend, and have created an Adult ticket. There is a limited number of these tickets available and we appreciate your support in this as we together continue to make this event accessible for youth and their leaders.
ABOUT EMU YOUTH
Emu Youth is a project of Emu Music, created to equip and encourage young people with the good news of the gospel in song. The project seeks to write and produce songs that are fun, accessible, easy to play and sing, particularly for smaller and less resourced groups, and most importantly, songs that are full of biblical truth. The project began in 2016 and has been headed up by Liv Chapman, a member of the global Emu ministry team.
Emu Youth's first release, This Is The One, was released in 2017 and is available alongside a devotional exploring the Bible passages that inspired the songs. Their second release, No Love Is Higher, is a collaboration with Sydney music ministers, Curtis Smith (Church by the Bridge) and James West (St Thomas' North Sydney), and engineer and producer Jackson Barclay.
ABOUT LIV CHAPMAN
Liv has been writing and singing for Emu Music for many years and has been on staff since 2016. As a teenager, she developed a passion for music and began playing regularly at church. As a youth group leader during her time at University, she recognised the shortage of accessible, fun, gospel-centred songs for less-resourced groups to be playing at their meetings. So she set about writing them! Emu Youth was developed out of her and Emu's desire to be giving young people songs that they would love and could play, and songs that taught the truths of the gospel with a focus on Jesus, rather than ourselves.
As part of the Emu ministry team, she regularly hosts conferences around the world, teaching and training church musicians, as well as visiting schools, Christian unions, youth conferences and youth groups to speak about her faith and share the songs of the Emu Youth project. She is passionate about equipping and encouraging young people to know, love and sing the gospel.
Liv attends St Ebbe's Church in Oxford where she is part of the music ministry and undergraduate student ministry teams. Having completed the Ministry Training Course in Oxford, she is currently studying theology at Moore College.
