Sunday Music Fest: Sydney 2027

For everyone who loves and leads Christian singing!
13 March 2027 | 10am - 3:30pm

For over 20 years Emu has been supporting local church music through its Word In Song conferences: combining Bible teaching and practical seminars in music, tech and leadership. In 2027 we’re doing something new: the Sunday Music Fest. Created for everyone who loves and leads Christian singing, this single-day festival explores why congregational song is so central to gospel ministry. It’s also going to be lots of fun! Experience the joy of singing in a large crowd with excellent musicians. Be challenged to think how Christian singing can transform both your church gathering and your Christian life. And enjoy the festival vibes with live music, good food and great coffee.

Who's it for?
Rich, gospel singing isn’t just the responsibility of the music team, but the whole church. That’s why Sunday Music Fest is designed for everyone. Yes, we will have streams for musicians, tech teams, those in leadership, and… for the people actually doing the singing: the church. Great music happens when we sing, serve and celebrate the gospel together.

What to Expect:

  • Main Session: Insightful Bible teaching paired with rich congregational singing.
  • Punchy, Short-Form Seminars: Practical talks tailored for leaders, musicians and everyday church members.
  • Festival Experience: Live music showcases, street food, team-building activities, and great coffee.

If you’ve ever thought about what the purpose of singing is, or why music matters in our services; or how to skill up as a congregational singer, musician, leader, or tech? That's what Sunday Music Fest is about. Come with your church or come on your own, but leave inspired, equipped, and refreshed to help shape gatherings that are biblical, beautiful and transformative.

Don’t miss out!

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is there a group discount?
Yes! Group discounts are available for our conference and package (10% off each ticket for groups of 5-14, and 20% off each ticket for groups of 15+). Please select the group discount option at checkout. Alternatively, if members of your church would like to register separately, please click here if your team is 5-14, and please click here if your team is 15+ to receive your unique discount code.

2. Who is this conference useful for?
You! If you care about the music in your church - from the congregation, to the band, or as a leader – Sunday Music Fest is designed to support the goals of Colossians 3:16 that we together share in this ministry of the Word of Christ.  We’ll be running sessions for everyone. And at nearly every event, we meet someone who tells us they wish they’d brought along their team, their friends, or pastors – as listening and learning together makes the biggest difference back in your church.

3. I'm a pastor or service leader - is this conference useful for me?
Yes! The ministry of the word in song flourishes when it intentionally complements the spoken word. As the leader of the congregation's praise, we hope you'll embrace the responsibility and joy of overseeing the music ministry in your church. What's more, your team will find it a great encouragement to see you supporting this ministry.

4. I don’t play an instrument or lead singing. Are you sure I should come?
We like to encourage churches that the centre of music ministry is not on the platform, but in the pews! Heart engaging, biblically rich singing is more about the congregation than it is the band, organ or choir. And we’ll be helping you think how you can engage 100% in the music.

5. I've been doing music for many years. Will I learn anything new?
Maybe yes; maybe no! Many people come to our events simply for the refreshment, encouragement and fellowship with those doing similar ministry.

6. We are a small church with few resources - will this day be relevant?
Yes! We love helping smaller churches work out how to effectively use their resources to lead singing. There will be lots of opportunities for applying biblical and practical principles to every context.

7. Do I need to bring food?
Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day. There will also be coffee and sweet treats available to purchase on the day.
